ASEAN Medical Deans’ Summit 2026

Distinguished Deans, Colleagues, and Esteemed Delegates of the ASEAN Medical Schools Network,

It is my great honor to welcome you to Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, for the 16th ASEAN Medical Deans’ Summit (AMDS) 2026, proudly hosted by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City.

Since its establishment in 2012, the ASEAN Medical Schools Network (AMSN) has grown into a vital platform for academic leadership and collaboration among medical schools across our region. Through this network, we share a collective commitment to advancing excellence in medical education, strengthening research partnerships, supporting the personal and professional development of our students, and improving the health of our communities.

This year’s summit is held under the theme “Innovating Together: Driving Transformation in Medical Education and Health Care” At a time when healthcare systems face unprecedented challenges and rapid technological change, our institutions must lead transformation through innovation, collaboration, and shared learning. The AMDS provides an important opportunity for academic leaders to exchange perspectives, develop partnerships, and shape the future of medical education in ASEAN.

We believe that by working together, ASEAN medical schools can build a stronger regional community of educators, researchers, and healthcare professionals who are prepared to respond to the evolving health needs of our societies, while also nurturing future physicians who demonstrate not only clinical competence but also leadership, compassion, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

We are delighted to welcome you to Ho Chi Minh City, a vibrant and dynamic city that reflects the energy and aspirations of a rapidly developing region. We hope that AMDS2026 will inspire meaningful dialogue, strengthen partnerships, and contribute to the continued advancement of health professions education across ASEAN.

On behalf of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City, I warmly welcome you and wish you a productive and inspiring summit.

Warm regards,
